Our beloved Shanti has been in the garden since 2015. He came to us at 20 years old so in 2025 he turned 30. 

We ask you not to put your fingers in his cage, just in case he decides to bite…but he hasn’t ever bit anyone. He is very, very friendly and loving and is bonded with the garden’s owner, Eve. 

Please do not feed him—chocolate, onions and avocado can cause him great harm. 

We look at his “cage” as a Condo…and we do NOT support the bird trade, or animal trade in general. Our animals are RESCUE animals and they are being cared for at great expense in time and money. We keep them safe, healthy, happy and loved. Would we prefer they were never taken out of their natural environment, yes, but they were and we are doing everything we can to make their lives good ones.
