The outdoor labyrinth is nestled in a Kukui Nut forest. Kukui (Kukui means light in Hawaiian) is the Hawaii State Tree. It is a “Candle Nut Tree in English) and the nuts were used as candles. You will most often see them now strung together as a lei.

They create a lovely canopy over the labyrinth….but watch out for falling nuts!
